FoolProof for Parents & Grandparents

Know any parents or grandparents that worry about their kids and money?

Click to play.

If so, they’re in the mainstream.

  • According to a national survey conducted by the Consumer Federation of America and FoolProof, little more than half of the parents in America think their kids will leave home with the financial skills necessary for them to Safely Navigate the Free Enterprise System.
    (See the video.)
  • Some kids ruin their credit by the time they are sixteen.
  • Most young people learn about finances from their peers, not a good place to learn.
  • But, according to the CFA/FoolProof Survey, most young people want to learn about money from an adult in their family.

FoolProof for Parents and Grandparents allows the parent or grandparent to control their high school kids education about the realities of the free enterprise system. The program gives adults an engaging, interactive group of modules to use at home.

  • The program is turnkey. The adult signs up the young person, and FoolProof does the rest.
  • Both adults and kids start at your credit union's website.
  • The modules are based on our High School modules, but feature special videos for this program, and have been rewritten to replace the teacher with the parent or grandparent.
  • Test results are sent to the parent.

Incentives:

FoolProof for Parents and Grandparents gives an adult a way to incentiveize young people to learn about money realities.

  • Your kid: “Can I have a raise in my allowance?”
  • The adult: “If you pass the first two FoolProof modules, you can.”
  • Your kid: “Can I have a debit card?”
  • The parent: “If you pass the FoolProof modules on checking accounts, you can.”
