BayPort Credit Union in NewPort News, VA, recently launched their version or Highly Custom with a visit from Will deHoo (FoolProof’s CEO), Nick Buettner (FoolProof COO) and Joseph Bourbon (FoolProof Associate).

BayPort put together a busy rollout schedule for the FoolProof Team to introduce the program and its uniqueness to the board and to train the department heads as well as the staff.


Media:

As part of the roll out, BayPort approached local media to showcase both the importance of financial literacy, the uniqueness of the FoolProof programs, and how these work together to fulfill the BayPort mission to educate members and non-members alike.

As part of these efforts, FoolProof was aired on the Fox43 Hampton Roads Show (see below), the Wavy10 Midday News, as well as in a Public Service Announcement on the importance of money management (see below).

Educational Outreach:

BayPort also asked FoolProof to participate in the annual “Real Money Experience,” a training day for local educators, sponsored by many local credit unions. The FoolProof Team presented to 50+ teachers and signed up 14 high schools on the spot, with many more sign-ups over the following days.

The FoolProof Team also gave an interactive presentation on financial literacy and introduced the high school program to students. The Daily Press, a local newspaper, was present to report.

Contest:

Finally, BayPort used the FoolProof Team to launch the programs with a fantastic staff contest.

Several Highly Custom credit unions over the years have awarded a trip to the Caribbean to the ultimate winner of their FoolProof knowledge contest themselves. FoolProof manages the details of the actual trip for our custom credit unions.

  • University Federal Credit Union in Austin, Texas, a billion-dollar credit union, launched its third contest (over a period of ten years) in February, 2010.
  • Elevations Federal Credit Union in Bolder, Colorado, has hosted two highly successful contests.
  • Corning Credit Union in Corning, New York, a billion-dollar credit union, has also used a trip to engage their staff.
